The prospects for a strong hockey team this year are very encouraging. Captain D. A. Newhall '06, E. Wilder '07, R. S. Townsend '07, and C. C. Pell '08, of last year's team, have returned to College. W. MacLeod sL., and M. H. Ivy 1L., both of whom played on the team two years ago, are in the Law School, and eligible to play. There is also good available material from last year's strong Second and Freshman teams. A. Winsor '02 will coach the team. In addition to the usual class games, it is planned to institute this year a scrub series.
Candidates will be called out next week and preliminary practice will be held in the rear of the Hemenway Gymnasium. As soon as the weather permits, practice will be held in the rinks, which will probably be constructed in the Stadium.
