About 30 men were present at the first meeting of the Esperanto Club yesterday afternoon. Text books of Esperanto grammar were distributed, and Mr. J. F. Twombly '94 explained the structure of the language. The grammar is very easy, and a few weeks of study will suffice to master the vocabulary. Very few of the words are new, but are taken from the English and the languages of continental Europe. A man who speaks English and German, French, or Spanish can read Esperanto fairly well. Esperanto literature and any information about the language can be obtained from Mr. H. W. Morse, 65 Walker street. The next meeting will probably be held on December 12.
