Annual Cercle Francais Play and Cast

The nineteenth annual theatrical production of the Cercle Francais, to be given next month, combines with the usual classical performance a very modern comedy. "L'Armour Medicin," a short play by Moliere with lively ballet and music, will be followed by Tristan Barnard's amusing vaudeville "L'Anglais Tel Qu'on Le Parle." The rehearsals are progressing satisfactorily under the direction of Mons. Ernest Perrin, the well known Paris actor, who is at present professor of dramatic diction in New York.

Mons. Julien Tiersot, librarian of the Conservatory of Music at Paris, who is giving a series of lectures at the Alliance Francais in Boston, has brought to the Cercle Francais from the Paris archives, the original ballet music of Moliere's play, which was written by Lulli for the first presentation before Louis XIV in 1665.

There will be three performances, two in Cambridge at Brattle Hall on December 12 and 14, and one in Boston at Jordan Hall on December 18.
