1908 and 1909 Trial Debates

The first of the three trial debates to choose the teams for the Sophomore-Freshman debate on December 11, will take place this evening. The question for debate is: "Resolved, That the present policy of the Administration in regard to San Domingo is justifiable."

The Sophomore trial will be held in Harvard 5 at 7.30 o'clock and the Freshman trial will be held in Sever 11 at 7 o'clock. The speeches will be five minutes long. Twelve men from each class will be chosen to compete in the second trial on Monday. Sophomore members of the University Debating Club will be retained for the second trials without speaking at the trials today.

Candidates for both teams should leave name, class, and the side of the question they wish to defend with P. L. Butler '08, Weld 29, before noon today. The order of speaking will be posted in Gore Hall before 3 o'clock. Freshmen are particularly urged to come out.
