Yale, 16; Syracuse, 0

The Yale football team defeated Syracuse at New Haven Saturday by a score of 16 to 0 in a hard fought game. In the first half, Yale only scored one touchdown, resulting directly from a fumble by Syracuse and was only able to rush the ball for a total of 41 yards in the 20-minute period. A fumble by Hutchinson on Syracuse's 10 yard line cost Yale a probable touchdown.

In the second half Syracuse's defense weakened and Yale's attack improved. The first kickoff was run back 20 yards from the 15-yard line and a touchdown was soon made. Jones, the substitute quarter-back distinguished himself in this half. Once he ran back a punt 35 yards and a second time with only three minutes left to play scored a touchdown after a 30-yard run on a fake kick. Throughout the game the Yale backs appeared to be too fast for their line, in spite of the fact that the Syracuse attack was especially weak.
