1908-1909 Debate Trials Thursday

The first of the three trial debates to choose the teams for the Sophomore. Freshman debate on December 11 will take place on November 2. The question for debate is: "Resolved, That the present policy of the Administration in regard to San Domingo is justified."

Both Sophomore and Freshman trials will be held Thursday evening--the former in Harvard 5 at 7.30 o'clock, and the latter in Sever 11 at 7 o'clock. The speeches will be five minutes long. Twelve men from each class will be chosen to compete in the second trial on November 6. Sophomore members of the University Debating Club will be retained for the second trails without speaking at the trials Thursday.

Candidates for both teams should leave name, class and the side of the question they wish to defend with P. L. Butler '08, Weld '29, before Thursday noon. The order of speaking will be posted in Gore Hall by 6 o'clock the same day.
