The Architectural department has adopted a new system in the instruction of design. The work in advanced design is carried on with the co-operation of prominent architect, who have been appointed as lectures on architectural design, and who act with the Professor of architecture as instructor in the advanced courses. Each of these architects successively has charge of a problem upon which he criticizes the preliminary sketches, directs the evolution of the final drawings by individual criticisms of each student's work over his drawing board, and delivers before the class a criticism of the results.
The present lecturer is Mr. Robert Swain Peabody A. M., of Peabody and Stearns. He will be succeeded by E. M. Wheelwright A. B., C. A. Coolidge A. B., R. C. Sturgis A. B. and F. M. Day S. B.
