The University basketball team defeated the team of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology yesterday afternoon in the Gymnasium by the score of 20 to 14. In the first half Technology's team play was fast and brilliant, and their rushes and long passing were superior to that of the University team, which played aggressively and failed to cover its opponents properly.

In the second half Fredericks went in at right forward for Technology and Henderson replaced Underwood at left forward on the University team. The play on both sides was spirited throughout the half. Harvard's team work surpassed that of Technology, although the shooting by fouls was very poor and would have proved disastrous in a closer game. Harvard maintained the offensive throughout the half, Snyder and Griffiths playing an especially strong game.

The play as a whole was clean, and the fouls were mostly for holding or running with the ball.
