At a meeting of the Geological Conference, to be held in the Geological Lecture Room of the University Museum this evening at 8 o'clock, Professor T. A. Jaggar '93 will give the details of a trip to Iceland which he intends to take early in the summer. The object of the excursion will be the study of the volcanic phenomena of the island. Any students, whether or not, doing advanced work in geology, who wish to take the trip, may have it counted as Geology 3 in the Summer School curriculum. Although the trip may be considered an equivalent to this course it is in no way connected with the Summer School, and men who go on it will do so independently and at their own risk.
Professor Jaggar will leave Cambridge in May, but men may meet him in June, either in Iceland, or in Scotland where the start will be made. Exclusive of the trip to and from Iceland, the expedition will last a little over a month.
Full details, such as routes, tables of expenses, probably time of departure of steamers, etc., will be explained this evening.
The meeting will be open to all members of the University.
