The performances of several Harvard players in the golf tournaments held during the summer point to a promising outlook for a successful team in the intercollegiate golf tournament, which will be held between October 18 and 22, on the Myopia Hunt Club course.

The playing of H. C. Egan '05, captain of the University team, was consistently excellent throughout the season and culminated fittingly in his winning the national amateur championship at Baltusrol. Lyon in the Olympic tournament just finished at St. Louis, won the low score medals in the qualifying rounds of the western and national amateur tournaments, and together with W. E. Egan '05, won the Lake County foursome cup at Onwentsia. The latter player also won the directors' cup in the western championship tournament.

M. McBurney '06, won several tournaments, including those at Shinnecock and Stockbridge. Among other members of the University who have made a good showing in tournaments are P. Proal '05, A. C. Travis '05, and E. Wilder '07.
