Good Crew Work Yesterday.

RED TOP, June 22.--The three eights rowed two miles down stream to the Navy Yard this afternoon under very good conditions. The first crew gained steadily and finishing three and a half lengths ahead. The time was 10 minutes, 3 seconds. The race between the Freshman and second crews was very close. In the first half mile the Freshmen secured a good lead but the second gradually cut it down and finished only a few feet behind. Shortly afterwards the Yale university and freshman eights went over the same course under slightly better conditions. Their time was a few seconds faster but could not be accurately obtained.

Brownell, stroke of the four-oar, was taken to the New London Hospital tonight by Dr. Jouett. He has been feeling ill for the past two or three days. On this account the four-oar did not row this afternoon.
