First Interclass Baseball Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first game in the interclass baseball series will be played between the Sophomore and Freshman nines on the Freshman diamond, Soldiers Field, this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Freshman team has the advantage of a season's practice and coaching, and their team play is well developed. The Sophomores have had only one day's practice as a team, but the nine is made up of men who have played during the season on the Second and on the Leiter Cup nines, and in consequence the game today should be closely contested.

On Saturday the Seniors will play the Juniors. The Senior nine has been practicing since the first of last week; the Juniors began practice yesterday. Both teams are composed of Second nine and Leiter Cup players, and are captained by P.E. Sheldon and F.T. Colby respectively.

The batting orders in today's game will be as follows: 1906.  1907. Hellman, c.  3b., Dexter (captain) Leonard (captain), 2b.  2b., Russell Nesmith, l.f.  l.f., Giles Sperry, c.f.  s.s., Mahar Taylor, p.  1b., Evans Greenough, Gallagher, r.f.  c.f., Weston Paul, 1b.  p., Greene Grant, 3b.  r.f., Grant Burns, s.s.  c., Sullivan
