Light Crew Work.

RED TOP, June 15.--Today for the first time in over a week the first crew was not sent over the four-mile course. This morning's work was light, all the crews taking a short row of half a mile at a high stroke. On account of rough water the crew waited until late tonight before going out, and was then sent only two and one-half miles down stream against a heavy wind. Despite this handicap, good progress was made, and the shell went along smoothly over the choppy water. The men rowed a 28 and a 29 stroke. Coming back, they had a brush with the second crew, which had a start of two lengths. Although the first gained considerably, it was unable to catch the second before the finish.

The four-oared crew went two miles down the river, and made one of the half miles on the row home in 2 m. 45 s.
