NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The funds necessary for the proposed improvements in Hollis and Stoughton halls, amounting to $12,000 have been raised by subscription from graduates in Boston, New York and Philadelphia. In Boston, where the greater part of the money was subscribed, R.H. Oveson '05 was aided in interviewing the graduates by K. McLeod '05, R. Winsor, Jr., '05, and J.P. Bowditch '05. S.N. Hinckley '05 and T. Callaway '05 had charge of the collection of funds in New York, and R.H. Cox '05 was sent to Philadelphia.

By the time College opens next fall, the work of alteration will have been completed. Every room in both Hollis and Stoughton will have hot water heating apparatus, and will also be provided with hot and cold running water. On each floor in both entries, occupying the present bed-room space at the ends of the halls, there will be a set of showers and lavatories, and porcelain bathtubs are to be placed in the basements.

In order to permit of bathroom facilities on the first floor as well as the others, the west entry stairways will have to be modified, to correspond with those in the east entries.
