In the first round of play in the team matches to decide the interclass golf championship of the University, at the Country Club course yesterday afternoon, the Juniors defeated the Seniors by a score of 5 to 4, and the Sophomores defeated the Freshmen by a score of 18 to 0, the result in each case being determined on the basis of one point for the match and one-half a point for each hole up at the end of 18 holes.
White and Ellis both played a brilliant game, making the round of 18 holes in 76 and 77, respectively.
The final round for the class championship will be played at the Country Club course this afternoon, when the teams will be paired as follows:
