The University lacrosse game scheduled for today with the College of the City of New York has been cancelled because of the lateness of the season and the inability of the New York team to come to Cambridge at this time. Two picked teams, however, will line up for a practice game on Soldiers Field at 3 o'clock. There will be two twenty-five minute halves; in the first, the attacks of teams A and B will play their own defences; in the second, team A will play team B.
In the dally practice of the past week the endeavor has been to effect fast team play by the retention of the ball and by quick short passes. The work next week will be directed toward developing the same style of play, and of Friday the team will start on its southern trip to play Johns Hopkins, Lehigh and Swarthmore.
The preliminary class games will be held on the first two days of next week; on Monday 1904 will play 1905; and on Tuesday 1906 will play 1907. The final game, between the winners of the preliminary series will be played after the Easter recess.
