Freshman Fencing in Vacation.

The Freshman fencing team was defeated by the Columbia Freshmen last Saturday evening in a close and well fought contest at Earle Hall, Columbia University, by a score of 5 bouts to 4. Although weakened by having to use a substitute, the Harvard fencers made a creditable showing against a team which has won seven consecutive matches this season. Several of the bouts were very close, extra periods being necessary for a decision.

On Friday evening the Freshman defeated Cutler School, the interscholastic champions of New York, in a practice match, by a score of 8 bouts to 1.
