The University lacrosse team will leave Cambridge at 7.15 o'clock this evening for its southern trip during the spring recess. The team will go by the Federal Express to Baltimore, reaching there tomorrow morning and playing Johns Hopkins in the afternoon; and then on Monday morning, to Swarthmore, where it will play its second game. On Tuesday, at South Bethlehem, Pa., the third and last game of the trip will be played with Lehigh. After this game the team will return to New York and from there to Cambridge early Thursday morning.
All three games on the southern trip will probably be a severe test on the play of the University team because of the southern teams' advantage of a longer spring practice. The latter have already played several games while the game with Johns Hopkins tomorrow will be the first of the season for the University team.
Under the training of Coach Shea the team-play of the University squad has steadily improved, although the passing is still faulty. Yesterday afternoon the squad was given the last hard practice, and today there will be light stick work only.
The following fifteen men will compose the squad; Adams, Bailey, Bennett, Blaxter, Goddard, Hanavan, Kibbey, Lehmann, Outerbridge, Phillips, Rice, Smith, Wead, Bollard and Coach Shea.
