The University chess team has played all its games in the Metropolitan chess League series and is now in fourth place, having won 5 1-2 games and lost 6 1-2. A few postponed matches still to be played by other teams may possibly make slight changes in the league standing. The Japanese war having increased the cable rate, it is probable that no international chess match will be held this year.

The final round in the interclass series will be played this evening in the Game Room of the Union between Senior and Freshman teams of three men each. In the preliminary round the Seniors defeated the Juniors and the Freshmen defeated the Sophomores. Last week the Freshman team also defeated the graduates.
