Spanish Lecture by Prof. Geddes.

Professor James Geddes '80, of the Department of Romance Languages in Boston University, will lecture in Spanish before the Sociedad Espanola in Phillips Brooks House, this evening at 8 o'clock. The subject will be "La Reciente Actividad Literaria en Espana." Professor Geddes is a member of the Dante Society, the American Dialect Society, and the Modern Language Association of America, and has written a number of texts for the study of romance languages.

The lecture will deal with the three great divisions, scientific, historical, and literary, into which modern Spanish literature is divided. The rapid development in sociological and educational matters, the quality and quantity of historical works, all the brilliance and literary worth of the writers in the field of belles-lettres will be discussed.

After the lecture there will be a reception to the members of the Club Espanel and the Castilian Club of Boston. Tickets may be obtained by all members of the University and of Radcliffe College interested in Spanish, from N. F. Hall, 35 Brewster street.
