Arrival of Philippine Expedition.

An expedition under the auspices of the Medical School, for the purpose of studying tropical diseases in the Philippine Islands, arrived at Manila last week. The expedition, which is to remain in the Philippines for a year, was sent out under the general supervision of Dr. W. T. Councilman h.'99, Shattuck Professor of Pathological Anatomy in the Medical School. It is composed of Dr. W. R. Brinckerhoff '97, and Dr. E. E. Tyzzer M. '02, both of whom are assistants in pathology in the Medical School.

After receiving his degree from the Scientific School in 1897. Dr. Brinckerhoff graduated from the Medical School with high rank in 1901. Before becoming an assistant in the Medical School, he was on the staff of the Boston City Hospital. Dr. Tyszer graduated from the Medical School in 1902, having first received a degree from Brown University. Last year both men assisted Dr. Councilman in his isolation of the organism which is presumably the cause small-box.
