A marble statue of Shakespere has been presented to the University by Alanson Tucker '72 of Boston, in honor of his father, William Warren Tucker h.'61. The figure, which is seated, is of white Roman marble, and is the work of the late William Wetmore Story '38, well known for his allegorical statues "Medea" and "Cleopatra."
At the request of the Corporation the gift has been placed in the Library of the Union.
