PRINCETON, N. J., Friday.--Princeton defeated Harvard in basketball tonight by a score of 40 to 11, in a rough game characterized by fouls on both sides. Harvard lacked team-work and the ability to shoot easy baskets. In the first half, the University team scored but two points to Princeton's eighteen.
The line-up was as follows: Score--Princeton, 40; Harvard, 11. Baskets from floor--Vard 7, Ely 3, McCoy 3, Vanderbilt 3, Wrightson, K. Smith 2, Henderson 2. Baskets from fouls--McCoy 6, Henderson 3. Tonight the University team will play the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia. This game will be the second meeting of the teams this season; the first one, played at Cambridge, resulted in a defeat for the University team by a score of 18 to 15. The Pennsylvania team now stands second in the intercollegiate league, it has defeated Harvard, Princeton and Yale, and has been defeated by Columbia and once by Yale.
