Examinations for licenses to teach in the High Schools of New York City will be held on March 21, and 22, 1904. in biology, chemistry, commercial branches, drawing, economics, elocution, English, French, German, history, mathematics, mechanical drawing, music, physical training, physics, Spanish, and stenography. There promise to be good openings particularly in biology, English, German, chemistry, and physics.
An examination for license to teach music in elementary schools will be held on April 11, 1904. and to teach shopwork on April 13, 1904.
Examinations for licenses to teach in the evening schools will be held in March.
Sometime this month examinations will be held for positions this summer in vacation schools, vacation play-grounds, swimming schools, and evening recreation centres.
Information concerning the conditions of the examinations may be obtained at the office of the Appointment Committee, 9 University Hall. Any men who may decide to become candidates are requested to notify the chairman of the Committee.
