The work of the upperclass crew squads of both the Weld and Newell Clubs will begin this afternoon at the University Boathouse. The squads will report at the following hours: Seniors at 3, Juniors at 3.30, and Sophomores at 4.
By the new arrangement of the class crews this year, each class will be represented by a crew composed of members of both the Weld and Newell Clubs. The captains of these crews will appoint their own coaches, and in conjunction with the latter will select the men and the positions in which they will row. Class numerals will be given to the crew winning the class crew race.
Each club also will be represented by a crew from each class. These crews will be supervised by the coaches of the class crews, and if changes are made in the latter, men will be picked from the club class crews. The two club crews from each class will race and the winner will receive the club class crew numerals.
The preliminary work for candidates for the class crews will consist in practice on the machines and in the tank under the direction of Wray and Vail.
