The Freshman hockey team defeated the Yale freshmen on the Holmes Field rink, Saturday afternoon, by a score of 2 goals to 1. Both scores for the Freshmen were made on individual plays toward the close of the first half, the first by Gowen, who passed the Yale forwards and scored on a long shoot. The second goal was made in the same way by Edgell a few minutes later, when the Yale forwards failed to follow back after being passed. McClintock scored for Yale about the middle of the second half.
Both teams were conspicuously lacking in team-play; and Harvard won through faster individual work and a stronger defense.
The line-up: Score--Harvard 1907, 2; Yale 1907, 1. Goals--Gowen, Edgell, McClintock, Referee--Wagstaff 1905. Time--20-minute halves.
