The Mexican Astronomical Society has decided to present to Professor W. H. Pickering, of the Astronomical Observatory, a silver medal in recognition of his notable work in astronomy, especially the discovery of the ninth satellite of Saturn. This discovery was made by Professor Pickering at Cambridge in June, 1899, from astronomica photographs made under his direction at the observatory in Peru.
