The Sophomores defeated the Freshmen last night in the second game of the interclass basketball series, by a score of 22 to 18.
The team work of both teams was at times ragged and the defense at several critical moments was poor. On the other hand, several brilliant shots for baskets were made. The stronger offense of the Sophomores won them the victory.
The line-up was as follows: Score--1907, 22; 1908, 18. Baskets from the floor--Smith, Amberg 2, Murray 5, Reed 2, Ricker 2, Brown 2. Baskets on foul--Murray 5, Sessa 6. Point on foul--Murray. Fouls called--on 1907. 13; on 1908, 11. Referee--H. R. Snyder '05. Umpire--W. A. Spencer '06. Timekeepers--J. R. Montgomery '06, F. B. Hooker '08. Time--20-minute halves. The final game for the class championship in basketball will be played between the Juniors and the Sophomores in the Gymnasium tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock.
