Twenty-three men reported at the first association football practice on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. For the first 25 minutes the men were given work in kicking, shooting at and defending the goals, and the different positions were explained. After the preliminary practice two teams were picked, and a game of 20-minute halves was played, team A winning from team B by a score of 3 goals to 0. There was some handling of the ball and foul throws were numerous, but there was little holding or tripping.
A meeting will be held sometime after Christmas to elect officers for the year and a permanent captain.
Following was the line-up of the teams yesterday.
