During the winter considerable work will be done towards filling in and making serviceable the undeveloped land on Soldiers Field. The low ground between the shooting-box and the gate opposite the University boathouse has already been covered with cinders and in the spring will be ready for leveling and planting. This tract will be large enough to accommodate a new baseball field and should be ready for use in the fall.
Plans have been drawn up by the City of Cambridge for a new road to connect North Harvard street with the Charles River Speedway and to run across Soldiers Field back of the Stadium and the baseball stands. The surveying has already been completed and work will probably begin in the early spring.
