In accordance with the will of George Smith '53, of St. Louis, filed in March, 1902, the treasurer of the Corporation has received in cash and securities a payment of $257, 550.66. As the will provides that this fund may not be used until it shall have accumulated to $450,000, which will take between 15 and 20 years, no definite plans have as yet been made towards the erection of the three dormitories for which the fund was started. The dormitories are to be named respectively, the James Smith Hall, the Persis Smith Hall, and the George Smith Hall.
