Yesterday afternoon the University hockey team defeated. Andover by a score of 3 to 0 on the stadium rink. The game was more one-sided than the score indicates, and it was owing only to the excellent defense and goal-keeping of the Andover team that the score was not much larger.
In both halves the University team kept the puck almost entirely in Andover's territory, and shot repeatedly. The Andover goal-keeper and the point made many difficult stops, however, and the half ended with the score 1 to 0 in favor of Harvard.
The playing in the second half was a repetition of that in the first, and the University's remaining goals were made in the last minutes of play. The work of the University forwards was, in the main, good, but the men shot while too far from the goal and were weak in passing. Owing to the inability of the Andover forwards to keep the puck the University defense was not tested.
Callaway did the best work for Harvard, being especially quick in recovering the puck from the Andover forwards. Blanding and Merritt played the best game for Andover.
