Four Freshman crews rowed yesterday over a course of a mile and a half upstream from the Newell Boat Club. The crews are not yet well developed as there is much new material to be tried out. Stationary seats are being used and the crews are not graded in any way, the orders being changed from day to day. The men who do not get a chance to row on the river in the afternoon will be given work on the machines in the boat-house. Vail and Rice are coaching.
