Third Day of Freshman Football

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The work of the Freshman football squad yesterday was more advanced than on Monday or Tuesday. After the usual preliminary practice in passing and falling on the ball and tackling the dummy, the line-men were given practice in breaking through, the ends in running down under punts, and the backs in punting and catching punts. After this work, the squad was divided into seven teams which ran through signal practice and then lined up against each other for short scrimmages. From these teams a provisional first team was chosen and held a short signal practice. Today a provisional second team will be picked, and a regular line-up will take place. There will probably be a cut in the squad before the end of the week.

The provisional team yesterday was made up as follows: r.e., McNeil, MacDonald; r.t., Hard; r.g., King; c., Barney; l.g., Talbot; l.t., Boyer, Warren; l.e., Hadden; q.b., Starr, Pope; r.h.b., Liucoin; l.h.b., Thomas; f. h., Dutcher, Somes.
