REPUBLICAN CLUB MEETING

Tonight at 7 o'clock in Lower Massachusetts.--Plans for Campaign

The first meeting of the Republican Club, held last night in Lower Massachusetts, was largely attended. H. M. Wheeler '06, president of the club, read the following telegram from President Roosevelt:

"White House, Washington, D. C., "October 19, 1904.

"Through you I wish to give my heartiest greeting to the Harvard Republican Club. I need hardly say how deeply gratified I am that there should be such a club in my old Alma Mater. I wish you well in every way. (Signed) Theodore Roosevelt."

The following executive committee was appointed: College--R. H. Bollard '05, K. McLeod '05, A. C. Blagden '06, R. L. Hale '06, J. M. Morse '07, F. R. Starr '07, H. Green '08, P. Boyer '08; Scientific School--J. M. Groves '05, F. A. Carrick '06; Graduate School--H. L. Blackwell 5G., R. S. Wallace 1G.; Law School--A. A. Ballantine 1L., P. Dana 1L.; Medicil School--W. B. Bartlett 3., G. W. Morse 1M., Divinity School--F. R. Sturtevant 2D., W. H. Parker 1D.

It was voted that the executive committee arrange for the publishing of the campaign newspaper. Over 900 men have registered and of this number only 20 have refused to parade. Outfits for the parade, consisting of cap and gown of academic style and a torch, were displayed. Tickets will be sold which may be exchanged for the outfits on the night of the parade, which will be held in about two weeks, the exact date to be determined by the executive committee.

The New York, New Haven and Hart-ford Railroad has offered half fare rates to men going home to register and vote in New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts. The voter applying for such rates must present at the ticket office of the company a certificate signed by the chairman of the Republican committee in the county in which he intends to vote. Men living in the above mentioned States, but beyond or not on the lines of the New York, New Harven and Hartford Railroad will receive half-rates as for as that rail-road extends.

The Republican Club is a member of the American Republican College League, which acts in conjunction with the National Committee. At the national convention of the League, held this week in Indianapolis. A. E. Lunt '08, ex-president of the Harvard Club, was elected president.
