CHEERING AND SINGING PLANS

Committees Appointed to Select Football Songs and to Lead Cheering

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The following committee has been appointed by Captain Hurley to supervise the selection of songs to be used at the football games this fall: J. H. Densmore 1L., chairman; J. W. Johnston '05, secretary; Professor W. R. Spalding, W. P. Sanger '05, R. Oveson '05. Men should hand in their compositions at the office of the Union as soon as possible, in order that the songs may be chosen in time to be practiced thoroughly before the Yale game. If a sufficient number of good songs are written, the committee expects after the season to publish them in book form. A number of songs have already been received and are being considered by the committee. If the plan now being tried proves satisfactory, it is probable that a committee on songs, composed of a graduate as chairman, the leader of the University orchestra, a member of the Faculty, the leader of the University Glee Club and the president of the Senior class, will be formed each year.

S. N. Hinckley '05 has been appointed leader of cheering for the season; W. A. Schick '05 and C. W. Randall '05 will be assistants.
