The Yale football team defeated Syracuse at New Haven Saturday by a score of 17 to 9, the entire score for Yale being made in the first half. In the second half, Yale put in nine substitutes and against a team thus weakened, Syracuse scored twice. Shortly after the beginning of the half, Burrill, of Syracuse, kicked a goal from the field and later Syracuse held Yale for downs at the centre of the field and, as the result of steady rushing, scored a touchdown. Burrill carrying the ball over the goal line.
