At a meeting in New York, yesterday, of the Intercollegiate Fencing Association, composed of Harvard, Yale, Pennsylvania, Columbia, Cornell, Annapolis, and West Point, it was decided to hold the annual intercollegiate championship at the New York Athletic Club on April 1 and 2. The following men were appointed to be judges of the tournament: Mr. Brownell, of the Boston Athletic Association; Mr. S. O'Connor, of the New York Fencers' Club; Mr. C. Goodhue and Dr. Escheverria, of the New York Athletic Club; and Mr. J. A. Turn.
It was voted to ask the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to withdraw its application for admission to the Association, as to admit any new members at this time would necessitate a change in the intercollegiate schedule. The Institute of Technology, will, however, be asked to enter with Princeton next year. The proposition to hold a tournament at the St. Louis Exposition was laid on the table.
H. W. Holmes 1G., represented Harvard at the meeting.
