Basketball Practice Improved.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In the basketball practice yesterday afternoon the University team defeated the second by the score of 28 to 12. The work of the first team in all departments was much improved over the practice earlier in the week. On the defense which has been weak in all positions, the men showed an ability to cover their opponents so effectually that the second team was in possession of the ball only for very short periods. The passing was swift and clean throughout, and in rushes down the floor the long passes and short shoots for baskets were excellent.

The line-up was as follows: FIRST TEAM.  SECOND TEAM. Underwood, K. Smith, l.f.  r.f., R. Hall Grant, r.f.  l.f., Henderson, Jones Randall, c.  c., Arnold, E. Hall K. Smith, Bigelow, l.g.  r.g., Gallagher Gring, Swift, r.g.  l.g., Stinchfield, Kempner
