The University basketball team last evening practiced in the Cambridge Y. M. C. A. gymnasium, where baskets with hard back screens, of the kind that will be used in the game with Columbia tomorrow night in New York, are used. Columbia is the only team in the intercollegiate league using this style of basket and consequently has considerable advantage over the visiting teams.
After a long preliminary practice in throwing baskets and free tries, a short five-minute line-up was played with a scrub team. Today the practice, which will be light, will be held in the Hemenway Gymnasium, as usual, at 5.30 o'clock.
The Freshman team will play Browne and Nichols School in the Gymnasium tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. No admission fee will be charged.
