NEW HAVEN, Conn., May 6, 1903.--Yale defeated the New Haven league team here today in an exciting game by the score of 2 to 1. The fielding, especially that of Thompson. Metcalf and Coates and the pitching were remarkably good.
The score by innings: Batteries Yale, Wescott and Winslow; New Haven, Hanifan and Jayse. Following are the results of other baseball games played yesterday: Princeton 4, Georgetown 3; Tufts 12, Holy Cross 4; Syracuse 11. Wesleyan 3; Boston University 5, Groton 1; Williams 19, Colgate 3 Colby 8, Bates 2.
