The Maine Club yesterday won the championship of the State Club series by defeating the Missouri Club in a seven-inning game by the score of 14 to 8. Maine won by superior batting and good fielding, and by taking advantage of the large number of errors made by their opponents. Thayer pitched effectively for Maine, allowing only four hits.

The championship cups, which will be put on exhibition at Thurston's next week, will be awarded to the Maine Club team, composed of the following men: A. L. Thayer '04 (captain), O. F. Cutts 3L., F. H. Stinchfield 1L., J. H. Hudson 3L., E. Field '04, J. E. Wing 1L., J. W. Hastings '03, G. K. Bassett 1L., W. B. Clarke 3L.
