Second Nine vs. Maine.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Second nine left yesterday afternoon on its eastern trip and at 3 o'clock this afternoon will play the University of Maine at Orono. The Maine team is this year exceptionally strong, and has won most of the games on its schedule. The Second nine has played rather erratically throughout the season, and the practice of the last few days has shown no material improvement in any department.

The game today will undoubtedly be the hardest the Second nine has played, and the team will have to play its best game to win.

The batting orders: SECOND NINE.  MAINE. Carpenter, c.f.  2b., Veazie Marshall, 2b.  c., Chase Greenough, r.f.  c.f., Mitchell Fischel, 1b.  lb., Collins Parker, c.  l.f., Larrabee Bolton, 3b.  s.s., Thatcher Winsor, l.f.  3b., Bird Murphy, s.s.  r.f., Violette Hammond, p.  p., Frost
