GRADED CREW RACES.

The interclub graded races on the Charles River yesterday resulted in victories for the Weld crews in the senior and junior events and for the Newell crew in the intermediate race. A brisk head-wind and but little tide made the conditions unfavorable for fast time.

The first race, between the senior crews, was started up-stream a little after 4 o'clock. The Weld boat took the lead at the start and gradually increasing it, won by two lengths and a half, in 11 minutes and 9 seconds.

The intermediate race brought out the fastest time and proved to be very exciting. The Weld crew had the advantage during the early part of the race, but during the last mile, the lead shifted back and forth until within a short distance of the finish, when the Newell crew spurted and won by less than a quarter of a length. Time 11 minutes and 6 seconds.

The Weld junior crew won the third race easily by more than a length in 11 minutes and 23 seconds.

The orders of the winning crews were as follows:

Weld senior--Stroke, Macomber; 7, Minturn; 6, Sanger; 5, Bleakie; 4, Hanford; 3, Morse; 2, Deming; bow de Rham; cox., Whitney.

Newell intermediate--Stroke, Durfee 7, Olney; 6, Rivinus; 5, Lewis; 4, Shurtleff; 3, Cabot; 2, Waite; bow, Hopkins; cox., Hall.

Weld junior--Stroke, Brown; 7, Corlett; 6, Clark, 5, Atherton; 4, Manahan; 3, Emmons; 2, Field; bow, Black; cox., Risley.
