By a vote of the Corporation the site of Emerson Hall, the new philosophy building, was officially decided upon. The hall will be built at the west end of Sever Hall, facing Robinson Hall. Professor Shaler's house will probably have to be moved towards President Eliot's, in order to make room.

It has been found impracticable to lay the corner stone, as formerly planned, at this time; but the building is now assured and the architectural plans will soon be prepared.
