Professor Munsterberg will give the first of the four memorial lectures arranged by the department of philosophy in observance of the centennial of the birth of Ralph Waldo Emerson '21, in the New Lecture Hall at 8 o'clock tonight. The subject will be "Emerson as a Philosopher." Besides making some official statements about the new philosophy building and its name, Professor Munsterberg will discuss the meaning and value of Emerson's philosophy, especially in relation to modern science; and will consider how far he was really a philosopher and how far a mystic and poet. The lecture tonight, and the others of the same series, will be open to the public.
