The matches played yesterday in the trials for the University tennis team resulted as follows: W. S. Warland '03 defeated E. H. George 3L., 6-2, 6-1; M. H. Birckhead '03 defeated S. B. Prentice '05, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5; F. J. Sulloway '05, defeated E. F. Drake 2L., 6-3, 6-1; R. Bishop 2L. defeated R. N. Smither '06, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3; W. B. Bullen 2Dv. defeated A. Hoe '04, 6-2, 6-3; C. W. Gilkey '03 defeated S. L. Beals 2L., 6-4, 4-6, 6-2; E. W. Leonard '03 defeated C. L. Cole 2L., 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The following men only are still retained and they are to play today as follows:
G. Clark '03 vs. M. H. Birckhead '03, at 4; J. I. B. Larned '05 vs. C. L. Cole 2L., at 4.30; S. B. Prentice '05 vs. R. N. Smither '06, at 4; R. Bishop 2L., vs. E. H. George 3L., at 4; F. J. Sulloway '05 vs. C. W. Gilkey '03, at 3; S. L. Beals 2L. vs. W. B. Bullen 2Dv., at 4; W. P. Blagden '04 vs. R. M. McConnell Gr. Dv., at 5.
Attention is again called to the rule that the results of matches must be left on the bulletin board in the CRIMSON office by 7.30 p. m. each day--unless the results have been definitely obtained for the CRIMSON at the courts.
