The Botanical Department has just received of Miss French of Boston two volumes of original water-color sketches of exotic and native plants. A few of the drawings will be exhibited from time to time in one of the cases in the balcony of the Botanical Museum. The outlines are all accurate, the coloring effective, and the execution very artistic.

Several of the glass models which arrived in the last invoice from Mr. Blaschko's studio, are now in place in cases on the main exhibition floor. Two of the models represent with great fidelity the galls and gall-insects of the willow and the oak.
