BASEBALL WITH FORDHAM.

Game on Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock.--Very Light Practice Yesterday.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The second baseball game of the season will be played with Fordham on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The game should be especially interesting, in that it affords the first opportunity to compare the strength of the Harvard and Yale teams, Yale having defeated Fordham on Saturday, March 28, by a score of 5 to 2. In this game, Fordham played without an error in the field, but proved very weak in pitching and batting.

The batting order of the teams will be as follows: HARVARD.  FORDHAM. Carr, 3b.  c.f., Keane Matthews, s.s.  3b., O'Brien Randall, 1b.  c., McLane Clarkson, p.  1b., Robertson Stillman, c.f.  l.f., Mitchell Coolidge, 2b.  2b., Curtin Daly, r.f.  s.s., Hartman H. D. Kernan, l.f.  r.f., Oliver R. P. Kernan, c.  p., Doscher, Essender

Owing to the cold weather yesterday, the work of the University squad was very light, consisting simply of batting work at the nets, and short fielding practice on the diamond. The raw wind made fast and accurate play impossible, and so prevented any noticeable improvement in the work of the squad.
