The meeting last night in the interest of the Leiter Cup baseball series was very poorly attended. B. Wendell '02 briefly outlined the work and Mr. John Lowell '77 emphasized the importance of the series in developing material for the University nine.
Only about half as many teams have signed as were in the series last year. Entries may be made until tomorrow at 6 p. m. They must conform to the rules printed in the CRIMSON on March 27, and those for teams must consist of from twelve to fifteen names. All entries may be made at Leavitt's or left in E. B. Krumbhaar's mail box, Claverly 12.
The teams will be divided into sections and games will begin on April 28. Each team will play every other in its section and the winning team of each section will enter the final round. Nine cups will be given to the team winning this round. After the games are finished an All-Leiter Cup team will be picked to play the second nine about May 23. From the result of this game the final choice of the second nine will be made.
Several improvements have been made in the series. Two diamonds on Soldiers Field will be used, and a mask and a protector will be provided for each game. To avoid confusion no one will be allowed to play on two teams. Careful attention will be paid to the selection of teams from men who sign as individuals.
